The amfAR gala is held on the Cap during the Cannes festival and raises funds for AIDS research through a dinner and an auction that regularly produces the largest single-evening philanthropic total of the European calendar. The lots are contributed by artists, houses and private donors, and the bidding is genuinely competitive. Attendance is administered by the foundation, through tables and places arranged with its supporters and partners, and the evening is heavily oversubscribed. Arrival by air
- NCE — Nice Côte d'Azur Twenty-five minutes to the Cap by road; the principal arrival for the coast.
- CEQ — Cannes Mandelieu Twenty minutes west, with festival-week slots allocated far in advance.
Helicopter. Rotations between Nice, Cannes and the Cap operate continuously during the festival and are the only dependable way to hold to an evening schedule.
