About Scott & Vale
The quiet infrastructure of a well-run life.
A cap-limited private members firm serving ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and internationally mobile principals across the United Kingdom, the United States, Europe, the Gulf, Southern Africa, and selected Asian markets.
Who we are
A private office, not a concierge service.
Scott & Vale exists for a particular kind of client: one whose life is distributed across several countries, several time zones and, frequently, several sets of obligations that do not arrange themselves.
We are not in the business of arranging treats. We are in the business of removing friction — the accumulated, unglamorous, hour-by-hour friction of moving people, assets, households and attention across borders. An aircraft repositioned. A residence opened and staffed before arrival. A vessel provisioned in a port the principal will reach on Thursday. A dinner held past its hour because the meeting overran. A document moved securely between three jurisdictions before the close of business in the fourth.
Done properly, none of this is visible. That is the point of it. The measure of our work is not what a member notices, but the number of things they never have to think about again.
What we are building
Fewer members. Deeper service. Held indefinitely.
Most firms in this field grow by addition. Another market, another tier, another thousand accounts, until the promise of personal service becomes a call centre with a good font.
We have taken the opposite position, and made it structural. Scott & Vale operates to a hard annual ceiling of one hundred members, of whom twenty-five form the founding cohort. The ceiling is not a marketing device and it is not negotiable. It is the only credible way to guarantee that when a member calls at four in the morning — from a runway, a hospital, a boardroom, a harbour — the person answering knows who they are, where they are, and what has already been arranged on their behalf.
What we are trying to build is not a larger concierge company. It is a private office of the old kind — discreet, unhurried, institutionally reliable — operating at the speed and across the geography that modern wealth actually requires.
Where we operate
Six regions. One standard.
Reach, in this profession, is easily claimed and rarely held. Ours is measured in relationships that have been maintained over years, not in a list of cities on a website.
United Kingdom
Our centre of gravity. Private banking, family office counsel, legal and fiduciary relationships, household staffing, and the established rhythm of the British season — the ground on which the firm's manner was formed.
United States
Coverage across the principal centres of North American wealth, art and capital, with aviation, ground and residence capability aligned to the East Coast, the Southeast and the West.
Europe
From the Mediterranean summer through the Alpine winter — maritime, motorsport, art and couture calendars, and the private client cultures of France, Italy, Switzerland and Monaco, which still move on introduction rather than enquiry.
The Gulf and the United Arab Emirates
The operational bridge between Europe, Africa and Asia. Family office coordination, aviation density, residence and the Gulf's increasingly consequential financial season.
Southern Africa
The capability few of our peers hold with any depth. Maritime, private aviation, estate and security coordination, household staffing and regional mobility across the subcontinent — and, for firms and family offices looking at the region commercially, counsel on entering it. Market structure, the practical realities of establishing a presence, and introductions to the operators, advisers and institutions who determine whether a business arrives well or arrives twice. It is a region in which relationships are the only currency that clears, and ours were built there.
Selected Asian markets
Held through resident partners rather than a fixed office. Art weeks, watchmaking, private aviation and the family office circuit, coordinated by people already in the room.
Across all six, one standard applies. A member is served identically in Cape Town and in Mayfair, at the same hour, by the same house.
The manner of the thing
Anticipation, not response.
A request that reaches us has usually already cost the member something — attention, a moment of irritation, a small tax on a day that had other purposes. Our object is to intercept the request before it is made.
That begins with knowledge. Preferences are recorded once and held permanently: the airline seat, the side of the bed, the wine, the aversion, the school run, the anniversary, the two people who must always be told and the one who must never be. It continues with continuity — a member deals with the same team, indefinitely, and never explains themselves twice.
And it ends with the discipline that no arrangement is confirmed until it has been confirmed twice, and no member is told something is handled until it is.
We are available at every hour, in every market we serve. Not as a service-level claim, but because a firm of this size can be, and a firm of a thousand accounts cannot.
Corporate clients
The same standard, applied to an institution.
We act for family offices, investment firms, private banks, boards and closely held companies, where the requirement is less about indulgence than about precision under scrutiny.
That work includes executive and delegation travel across multiple jurisdictions; corporate hospitality around the international sporting, art and business calendar; board and investor programmes; relocation and residence for incoming senior appointments; secure ground movement and executive protection; event coordination; and the administrative scaffolding of an internationally distributed team.
Institutions engage us for the reason principals do. A senior executive's time is the most expensive asset on the balance sheet, and the least well protected.
In Southern Africa the mandate extends further. For businesses and investment firms examining the region, we advise on market entry: how the ground actually lies, who matters, what a credible first year looks like, and which doors open by introduction rather than by approach. It is the same asset applied to a different problem — a network held over years, made available to a client who would otherwise spend two of them building it.
We also convene. Members and corporate clients frequently arrive with questions that are not logistical at all — which room in London a fund manager ought to be in, who sets the table in Dubai, how a principal from one market is properly introduced in another. Scott & Vale maintains long-standing relationships with private banks, private offices and family offices across the United Kingdom, Europe and the Gulf, and makes introductions on that basis: discreetly, by request, and on the strength of the relationship rather than a list.
The house
British in manner. International in reach.
There is a particular English idea of service — attentive without being present, formal without being cold, entirely unimpressed by the person it is serving and entirely devoted to them. It belongs to the great London houses and the older private members' clubs, and it does not travel well. Most attempts to export it produce something louder and less certain.
We have tried to carry it intact.
That means restraint over display. Discretion as a default rather than a courtesy. The assumption that our members have already seen the things that impress people and are looking, at this stage, for something quieter: a house that is competent, consistent, unhurried, and entirely their own.
Members are not accounts. They are known by name, by preference and by history, and they remain so.
Membership
By introduction and application.
Membership is limited by design and reviewed annually. Prospective members are welcomed by introduction or by direct application, following a private conversation about requirements, jurisdictions and expectations.
Terms are discussed in private.
Introductions are relationship-led and made by request. Scott & Vale is not a financial intermediary. It does not advise on, arrange, promote or market investments, funds or securities, and receives no economics contingent on any capital raised or transaction concluded between introduced parties.
Services described are subject to availability, eligibility and applicable terms, and are arranged through trusted third-party providers where relevant.
Event names, marks and logos referenced on this page are the property of their respective owners. Scott & Vale is not an official partner, supplier or licensee of any event, organiser or rights holder named here, and no affiliation is implied. Scott & Vale does not sell, allocate, resell or guarantee admission to any event. Travel, accommodation, ground and air movement, security, dining and itinerary design are arranged around these events, and introductions are made to authorised hospitality providers where such programmes exist.
