A night race run down the Strip itself, and the most commercially concentrated weekend the sport has yet built.
The Las Vegas round is the sport's most deliberate commercial construction, and it works on its own terms. Racing begins near midnight local time, which places the finish in the European morning and the American evening simultaneously, and the circuit runs along a public boulevard that is closed for the occasion at considerable cost to the city. The surrounding week is the point. Every resort along the corridor programmes against the race, private dinners and gatherings run continuously from the Tuesday, and the concentration of American and Gulf capital in one two-mile stretch is unusual even by the standards of this calendar. The practical difficulty is that the entire city is operating at capacity, the road network is progressively closed from midweek, and arrival by air is subject to slot constraints at both fields.

Why it matters
Vegas is where the sport's American commercial ambition is most visible, and where the deal-making around the calendar is least disguised. The race timing, running through the night, inverts the normal shape of a weekend and requires an itinerary built around it rather than adjusted for it.

Arrival by air
- LAS — Harry Reid International Business aviation terminals operate at capacity across the race week; slots and parking are allocated far in advance.
- VGT — North Las Vegas Secondary field for lighter aircraft when the main terminals are full.
Helicopter. Helicopter movement across the valley is available but of limited practical value during the race week, when temporary airspace restrictions apply over the circuit corridor.

Suggested itinerary
- 01 Day One Arrival ahead of the road closures, with the first evening kept clear. The week's programme of private dinners begins immediately afterwards.
- 02 Day Two Practice through the night. Days are effectively free, which suits meetings, Red Rock Canyon or a desert excursion by air.
- 03 Day Three Qualifying after midnight, preceded by dinner rather than followed by it. The weekend runs on a reversed clock throughout.
- 04 Day Four Race night, with departure held to the second morning afterwards; the airfield is heavily congested in the twelve hours following the finish.

Why does the timing matter so much here?
Sessions run between ten in the evening and two in the morning. An itinerary built on a conventional daytime rhythm will not survive the week, and jet lag from Europe is best left uncorrected.
How constrained is aviation during the race week?
Severely. Slot and parking allocation at the business aviation terminals is resolved months ahead, and aircraft are frequently repositioned to nearby fields between arrival and departure.
Is the surrounding programme more valuable than the race?
For many principals, yes. The week carries a dense schedule of private gatherings, and most itineraries are built around those with the sessions placed second.
